Changing Your Mind About
You have been to your doctor. Perhaps you're seeing an acupuncturist, doing pre-natal yoga, carefully watching your food choices. You gave up coffee ages ago and take a fistful of supplements every morning. You've even joined a fertility support group online or in person. You're doing everything in your power to conceive, and yet your baby is not here. It's incredibly unfair.
Here is the piece that is missing. There is nothing in the world more powerful than your thoughts. If you have created a pattern of thought strong enough to influence your beliefs about your fertility, then you have affected your own biology. Therefore, if you tell yourself that you are infertile, then your body will do what it is told.
As you certainly know first hand, infertility creates a tremendous amount of stress and anxiety. But did you know that stress directly affects your reproductive hormones? Specifically, emotionally laden experiences are transmitted biologically and electrically to the hypothalamus. This in turn negatively affects the pituitary glands’ output of LH and FSH hormones which are the two hormones directly responsible for normal ovulation.
The more disappointed and disillusioned you become about your fertility, the worse it becomes. So, it is critical to change your mind about what your body can do in order to optimize your fertility.
Of course, this is easier said than done.
You need support. You need tools. You need resources.
